We at Christ Covenant Church are grateful for a rich heritage of biblical worship. We long to be a beacon of faithful preaching, teaching, discipleship, and evangelism. We long to see God’s people worshiping Him in spirit and in truth and to see them fully alive in Christ, such that they themselves become beacons of His glory.
It is our hope and prayer that we might be used by God to create an intergenerational legacy of worship in this place, and that it might serve future generations for years to come. From this foundation, we pray that God’s people would be gathered here—to be converted, discipled, and strengthened—that they may go out into the world as salt and light.
We invite you to join in this vision with us. Please pray that we may continue to “proclaim the WORD of God, model the GRACE of God, and extol the GLORY of God” as the Lord brings growth. And please participate financially, at any amount the Lord prompts you to give and to pledge. We seek to raise up much more than the bricks and mortar of a meeting place for His church. We desire to create a strategic outpost for the Kingdom of the Living God!

Thanks to early leadership gifts, generous pledges, and wise stewardship of building fund savings from congregational tithes, we are over halfway toward our $6 million funding goal for the sanctuary project.
In order to begin construction in July 2025, the Session is recommending we take out an intermediate-term construction loan of $3 million. However, we have a meaningful opportunity to reduce this loan amount if we can secure new gifts or pledges. Every dollar raised or pledged will directly reduce the amount we need to borrow. With additional support, we’ll be able to pay off the loan sooner and with less interest, ultimately freeing more resources for ministry.
Would you prayerfully consider making a gift or pledge in the coming weeks as we determine the loan amount needed to begin construction? You can click “Give Now” to make a gift today or “Make a Pledge” to spread your support over the next two, four, or six years. However you feel led—whether through faithful prayers, a new gift or pledge, or by fulfilling a prior commitment—we are deeply grateful for your partnership in this significant effort to expand the reach of Christ Covenant Church’s ministry.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
We plan to begin construction in July 2025.
-
The construction timeline is estimated at 18-24 months.

We will continue to meet each Sunday with two morning worship services and one evening worship service. Services will be held in the Fellowship Hall, which seats over 300 in worship seating set-up. The pulpit, baptismal, Lord's Supper table, and piano will be moved to the Fellowship Hall.
-
The Fellowship Hall along with kitchen, new restrooms, Loft, and foyer will remain open throughout the duration of construction — both on Sundays and during the weekdays. Regular weekday events will continue. We anticipate a set-up/take-down on Fridays (to convert from table seating to worship seating) and again on Sunday evenings (to convert from worship seating to table seating). This set-up may be accomplished by 10 people in 15 minutes.
-
The sanctuary and most of the old building will not be habitable for the duration of construction. However, the foyer and narthex will remain open on Sundays only. We also anticipate re-opening the Children's Wing after 6-8 weeks. These classrooms will be able to serve Children's Church and nurseries as needed. However, they will have to be accessed through the main foyer from the outdoors and may not be accessed directly from the Fellowship Hall. The existing corridor that contains the Nursery, Resource Room, and old restrooms will be closed for the entire duration of the project.
-
The site and majority of the parking lot will remain open. The exit drive, front yard, and a few parking spaces will be used for construction staging and will not be accessible. All congregational traffic will enter and exit via the existing entrance drive.

The new sanctuary seats 658.

Our Session believes a church of 400-600 is both small enough to be well shepherded and also large enough to be self-sustaining with a full complement of ministries plus extra energy for fruiting and for scattering seed across the Kingdom. We do not seek to grow, nor do we seek to restrict growth, but we do seek the Lord's will. Thus far, His clear providence has guided us to a site that continues to be well suited for our current size and also allows ample growth in worship space. This space may be used to accommodate more worshipers — whether new members, visitors, or perhaps even a group who wants to build strength to prepare for a future church plant. We will not turn away worshipers.
-
Absolutely. We do not plan to plant a church in order to curtail growth, but if God brings people who have a desire to plant in our region, and if He brings men who are willing to lead and pastor that plant, we will be delighted to harbor them, to build them up, to enable them, and to support them in a church planting mission.

We don't know. The Lord brings growth, and the Lord also restricts and removes numbers. The Lord only knows. Some congregations lose attendance during a building process, while others remain unaffected. A new sanctuary may attract scores of new visitors, or it may not. Regardless, it is prudent to build a sanctuary that fits both our current congregation well and also has ample room to grow. Our entire site is fit for 600, and all of the Fellowship Hall, bathrooms, kitchen, and grounds are designed to accommodate 600. The new sanctuary affords 658 seats for our current congregation of 477 attenders on average today. This allows a 38% growth in worship attendance if needed. We are currently growing at 3.5% over the past year.
-
Yes, the side aisles provide for 64 overflow chairs.
-
Yes. The Fellowship Hall, new restrooms, and kitchen — and all areas except the children's classrooms — are all already sized to support accordingly.
-
The project includes two new children's classrooms, representing a 50% increase in classroom space.
-
The project includes an enlarged nursery that is divided into two sections — one for infants and one for toddlers — providing more functional and quiet space. A secure check-in desk restricts view in and out of the nursery.
-
Our parking lot has 194 spaces. Architects expect three people per vehicle. Thus, our lot is technically sized for 582 people. However, our current parking lot usage exceeds the three person per vehicle average. This may be due to the two morning services, for which families drive more than one car. Regardless, this project adds several new spaces along our exit drive. If this increase is not sufficient, we have two further options: (1) Our site allows for an additional parking lot below the main entrance parking lot, or (2) Friendly Avenue Baptist has graciously offered 114 spaces in their lower parking lot (directly across Jefferson Road) indefinitely.
-
Yes, the plans add a second entrance and narthex to the sanctuary. This will dramatically reduce flow through the halls and the current foyer.
-
Yes! The greeters will have a coat closet with hangers right by the new main entrance doors.
-
Yes. A janitor closet will be located centrally and will incorporate the "breaker boxes."
-
Yes. All new areas will be pre-wired for security and AV.
-
Yes. With the increasing number of weddings in our congregation, we are adding a dressing room, which will also function as a convenient "family restroom" each Sunday and throughout the week.
-
Yes. A prayer room for the pastors and elders will be located to the left of the chancel.
-
A Deacon's Room for Lord's Supper and other supplies will be to the right of the chancel.
-
Yes. A Cry Room will be located at the back corner of the sanctuary and will have easy access to the family restroom in the hallway.
-
The sound equipment will be securely located in the new Resource Room with mobile monitoring. Worship service streaming will be able to capture piano and congregational singing.
-
Acoustical and lighting engineers have fully evaluated the plans and advised.
-
Yes. They are cushioned and upholstered for comfort but also for acoustical sound absorption.
-
The sanctuary offers main floor seating, ADA wheelchair seating, and "quieter" seating in the balcony.
-
Yes. These elements are part of the heritage of the church.
-
With just regular budgeted giving, the loan pay-off is 12 years.
-
The loan would be paid off in under 7 years.
-
$844,502. Initial giving over the next two years is most impactful. An additional $1 million reduces the total interest of the project to $488,087 — less than 6.7% of the entire project cost.
