Morning Exercises (Episode#1)

Dear Father in heaven, You are the King eternal, immortal invisible. From everlasting to everlasting, you are God. You are the same yesterday, today and forever. In the beginning, you laid the foundation of the earth and stretched out the heavens like a tent curtain. You count the number of the stars and give names to all of them. Nothing is too hard for you.

I bless and thank you for making me in my mother’s womb. Surely I am fearfully and wonderfully made. You made me the way I am, and you made me who I am. I thank you for the gifts and strengths you have given me. I trust your wisdom also in those places where I have struggles and weaknesses. I trust your plan for my life. In your book are written all the days you mapped out for me before there was one of them. I thank you for my mom and dad, and how they love and take care of me. I bless you for enriching my life with brothers, sisters, and good friends, and pray you would help me be a good son (or daughter), brother (or sister), and a faithful friend to others.

Please forgive me for my sins and be gracious to me. It is against you, you only that I have sinned and have done what is evil in your sight. I have not loved you with all my heart, all my soul, and all my strength, and I have not loved my neighbor as myself. I have not honored my parents; many times I have spoken to them in a way that is disrespectful and rude. Forgive me for the times I have allowed jealous, angry, and bitter thoughts to fill my heart when other people enjoyed successes and blessings I really wanted for myself. I thank you for Jesus, my Savior, that you made Him to become sin for me that I might become the righteousness of God in Him. Help me to love Jesus with all my heart, to understand His Word, and keep His commandments. Help me to overcome and master my sinful desires, to put them to death by the power of your Holy Spirit. Help me to resist the devil that he might flee from me as you promise He most surely will.

Father, please glorify and hallow your Name through me this day. May your Kingdom grow and extend through my heart, life, family, and friends. And may You watch over my going out and my coming in from this day forth and forever.

Add your own prayer requests here:

  • Who do you know that is in need?

  • Pray for your father, mother, and siblings that God would help them love and serve God with great wisdom.

  • If you know any friends who are not yet Christians, pray God will save them. Ask the Lord to call them out of darkness into His marvelous light.

  • Pray for your pastor that God would keep Him, strengthen, and enable Him to be holy, to care for the flock God has entrusted to his care, and to preach with power on the Lord’s Day.

  • Pray for our President and the government, that God would give them understanding and discernment in His ways, and wisdom to know what’s best for our nation.

Close your prayer with a doxology: Father, Oh, the depths of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are your judgments and your ways past finding out! For from you and through you and to you are all things. To you be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
